Hi

Sorry for my poor english but I write from France and my german is worse

I am working on a ISDE project

I would like to change my original oil pan for a simple alu skid plate (with no spacer) like it was done on these bikes (Scheck or Peres) but I have a problem with my ölsieb

The original oil strainer is too long and inclined to follow the original oil span
It seems necessary to mill or cut the tube inside the crankcase too reduce it and to modify the oil strainer to change his tilt

Do you know how it was done in the past? or how the actuel replicas are done?

If you have a solution to this problem, I will very pleased to share it

Thank you for all your answers

Pierre

Bonjour Pierre,
Le traducteur Google a bien traduit ceci:

Hallo

Vielen Dank für all Ihre Antworten

Pierre

Hi Pierre,

I'm also interested in Schek BMWs and Works BMWs of the 70's and 80's and we both wrote in the Offroadforen earlier (my nickname there is W.O.) ;)

In my memory you have to mill the oil strainer AND the flange in the motor housing on which the oil strainer sits if you don't want to use the spacer ring like HPN, SWT etc.. But I don't know exactly how to do...

I think your question will be answered in the Offroadforen, I saw your thread there right now. There are some BMW specialists who can help you better than me :pfeif:

Did you ask Phil BT, the builder of a really good french ISDT BMW Replica?

Greetings

Werner

Hi werner

I remember our discussion on my question about my Maico fork in the offroadforen a few months ago

I have some way to work and I m curious to see all the different options

Phil BT is a friend of me and he send me pictures of different possibilities he tried

He will be at Brioude in september for the brioude revival with a new BMW

I think that it's possible to find other options that's why I wrote this question in this forum and in the offroadforen community

Waiting to have different way to choose my favorite

Regards

Pierre
