The correct ignitionmodule has a shut-down time of a few seconds to protect itself against overheat.
You should change it against another type to test, you can look in older VW POLO or GOLF of the late 80th.

Does not warm up when the engine is stopped and the key is on. It only heats when the engine is running, so why the shutdown time overheat protection? You mean this older type?

The coil is ok, but the ignition module is a "car-type". I dont know for what type of coil it works.

Die aktuellen Steuergeräte sehen in der Tat so aus.

I'll make it easier. Is he able to tell how warm the ignition module should be after about 1 minute of idling? Is it not possible to keep your thumb on aluminum, or is it just lukewarm or something in between? Simply, what is its operating temperature?

You mean this older type?

Yes, that one looks like the genuine BMW part. The standard type is for bikes without kick starter. It can be replaced by the VW Golf 2/Jetta 2/ ... part. The second variant for bikes with kick starter switches off later.

The ignition modules are considered to be almost bullet proof - unless they are mounted without without thermal paste to the heat sink.
