Hi everyone, nice to meet you.

I am not very experienced with BMW airhead 2V and I signed up for useful information. I apologize for not speaking German and for my rusty English.

I would like to know if there are monolever Bmw motorcycles equipped with 10/32 or 11/34 FINAL DRIVE WITH THRU AXLE AND RIBBED CASE (like in photo B).

IMG_1974.jpeg

I don't think so. I think they exist only with smooth case (like in photo A)

If I'm wrong may U tell me the model and year of the BMW motorcycle ?

THANK U

It's just the other way. The "smooth" housing was used with the /5 to /7 series (dual arm lever). The Monolever series always came with the ribbed housing.

Regarding the available gear ratios: You will find plenty of information in the "rear drive chapter" of our BMW data base. The most should be understandable even to a non-german-speaking reader.

These might be most interesting:

Teil 7 Hinterradantrieb Monolever-Modelle Baureihe 247e Baujahr 1981-1992

Teil 8 Hinterradantrieb Monolever-Modelle Baureihe 247 85 Baujahr 1985-1995

Give it a try!

Kind regards

Stefan

Hello,

the translations are available. 32/10 and 34/11 more than rare, 37/11 with the R80

Greeting

Thank U to all for these infos.

To Walter,

Do U mean I should have used the translator rather than my rusty English?
Meinst du, ich hätte eher den Übersetzer als mein rostiges Englisch benutzen sollen?

if it works I'll do..

it works?

I'm not Walter, but

- the translator worked, but from my point of view you'd better stick to English since all these automatic translators create crappy wordings every once in a while.

- the correct term in Walter's post would have been "transmission ratio". ;)

Hi HOOK74,

a final drive with thru axle is only for use with twinshock swingarms!

A monolever bike doesn't need a final drive with thru axle, because the wheel is attached with 4 screws to the final drive.

Your picture B maybe shows a final drive for twinshock BMWs from 1981-1985 like here:
https://forum.2-ventiler.de/vbboard...wingen-Modelle-Baureihe-248-Baujahr-1981-1985
and here:

By the way: where are you located and is Hook your real name??

Greetings

Hello to everyone guys and thank you for all your information.

Asi said I am not an expert on BMW.
With total humility I try to understand something.
I apologize but probably my ignorance has made confusion.

I mistakenly call monolever all final transmissions (with through-axle and not) that are not for paralever.

I have a r100gs paralever but I am modifying chassis and changing final drive and swingarm.

I still don't know if my new swingarm will be single or double arm.

It depends on what I find as a final transmission that won't be a paralever transmission.

Mounting a 1070cc kit my mechanic advised me to use a 10/32 or 11/34 final transmission (also 11-33 but with the risk that it's too long).

I'd like to have a two arm swingarm.

I found a final transmission with through axle and ribbed case with 11-33 ratio but i wanted to know if the same one exists also with 11-34 or 10-32 ratio on some Bmw models.

seems not ....so probably I'll build a single arm swingarm with a final drive without through axle.

I hope you can understand :gfreu:

RAPPORTI TRASNISSIONE BMW.jpeg

someone of this with through axle and ribbed case?
I don't think so.

maybe through axle but with smooth case

That was the missing link!

32/10 twin shock: R75/5, R75/6, R75/7
34/11 twin shock: R90/6, R100/7, R100RT (drum brake)
33/11 twin shock: R90S, R100RS (drum brake)

Hope that helps!

Hi HOOK74,

the 32/10 ratio came with the R 80 RT from 9/1980 till 11/1984!

So you can built a twinshock bike if you find this final drive ;;-)

Have a look at the PDF in this Link:

Hello,

any information is useful. thank you!

I'm not sure but I think that

32/10 twin shocks: R75 / 5, R75 / 6, R75 / 7
34/11 twin shock: R90 / 6, R100 / 7, R100RT (drum brake)

have smooth case...I'm looking for ribbed case.
