One serious question. Are you never afraid of potholes?
On Princess Highway No 1 I encountered some hefty potholes in '87.:entsetzten:

I'll be back to Oz in Nov again. Mainly based in Brizzy, but looking forward to the ADV meet at Pooncarrie/Mungo Hut early Nov.
Any chance to catch up? Would love to, lots o yarn and beers.
I'm riding a '82 RS here and a 100GS PD in Oz.
No worries for BM talks though.

Ich muss den ADV Fahrt zum Pooncarrie studieren.

eh, Jeff - you're absolutely right - nobody really needs a GS!
Gs's only became one of those most useless - but for some (stupid) reasons the BM-topseller.
I think a GS fits those pussy riders who cannot handle RS'-bikes on top quality aussie dirt roads, corrogated tracks, bulldustholes, forest tracks or river crossings - like imported bloody german tourists ;)
But afaik as I know there are some australian pussy (GS-)riders, too.

Bei allem Respekt, fahren alle meine Freunde GS
Und ich fahre mein RS 95% zum Tode 19 jahre
 
Noch in 100 Jahren ist eine R100RS ein Klassiker, ich zolle hiemit dem Fahrer meinen Respekt, weil er "es" einfach im kleinen Finger hat. Die Motordrehzahl finde ich o.k. Meine Monolever-RS kommt:cool: mir mit 11:33 grad richtig vor.
 
Das die Repsolwerbefläche weg ist wollte ich auch grad erwähnen. Die Fahrweise erinnert mich ein wenig an die 80er als wir noch etwas weniger Angst hatten als jetzt :rolleyes:

Mich würde interessieren welche Reifen der Mensch auf der Q hatte?
